If you do not know what to do with unwanted books in your collection, the following article will show you a good way of dealing with them - donating them!

By Victor Epand

Books make a great companion. However, like any long relationship, it takes efforts to keep it going and strong. Admit it, you tend to ignore them when it comes to their upkeep. A great collection that took time and efforts to build up could end up in unkempt mess and a sorry physical state. Definitely not a welcome feature for your book collection that could contain many a fond memory. Instead, try donating the books.

Donating your books can be done in a number of ways.

1. Donate locally: Books can be donated at the local libraries. However, these days many libraries do not accept such donations. Still, it is possible to find one in your neighbourhood that accepts books in donation. Usually books in electronic form such as audio and video CDs, tapes, videos, or DVDs are preferred.

2. Through various websites: A number of websites deal with book donations.

The following is a list of some such websites:

JustGive: You can get information about the places where you can donate almost anything, including books, for a charity.

BookCrossing: This unique site encourages making books available to anyone interested in reading it, by following a pattern wherein a book is left in a public space for anyone to pick up and read. Your books could thus find a better way to get into circulation and actual reading, than their present solitary confinement.

PaperBackSwap: You can mail the books here and get credits that you can use to get the books you want. Usually a book is charged a little over $2 for the postage. The details are available on the website.

There are other helpful sites as well that support book donating, such as Freecycle, Craigslist, etc.

3. Through various programs: Certain organizations run programs that accept books as donations as part of their charity drive. The following programs are helpful if you want to donate your books for a good cause:

FOLUSA: These days FOLUSA is seeking donations to restore the libraries in hurricane and other natural disaster-hit areas. The books to be donated could be shipped to FOLUSA, the contact details are available on the website.

Vietnam Veterans Association: The additional benefit of this organization is that it provides a pick up and delivery service as well. Of course, this service is available in certain areas only and the maximum number of titles you can donate at a time are limited. They also have a system to collect such books on a monthly basis.

Housing Works in NYC: Primarily, this site works for homeless people and AIDS patients in NYC. You can send your books to this group.

Through book-donating charity NGOs: These organizations accept old or new college, graduate or professional level textbooks or study material in English that are provided to the needy students. You can find out more information on the Internet.

Books Through Bars: You can donate your books to prisoners through this program. It is necessary to make sure the kind of reading material you are donating is acceptable as per the regulations of the particular prison.

Donate your books if they have become more of a liability than an asset. Make way for your hitherto unwanted and isolated collection to bring delight in someone else’’s life. Help spread the light of learning and warmth of reading pleasure.

Full color printing is the manner of combining different colors into the layouts of a particular document. This may be a newspaper, magazine, a letterhead, brochure, postcards or posters of all sorts. Full color printing is much better than mere black-and-white printing as you will clearly see a magnificent effect on the document.

By Matthew Stanton

A full color printing is the reproduction of an image or text in color instead of the simple black and white or monochrome printing.

While there are many techniques for reproducing images in color, specific graphic processes and industrial equipment are used for mass reproduction of color images on paper. In this sense, full color printing involves reproduction techniques suited for printing presses capable of thousands or millions of impressions for publishing newspapers and magazines, brochures, cards, posters and similar mass-market items.

In this type of industrial or commercial printing, the technique used to print full-color images, such as color photographs, is referred to as four-color-process printing, because four inks are used: three primary colors plus black. The subtractive primary ink colors are cyan, a bright blue; magenta, a vivid red-purple; and yellow; which are abbreviated as CMYK.

Two graphic techniques are required to prepare images for four-color printing. In the pre-press stage, original images are translated into forms that can be used on a printing press, through color separation and screening or halftoning. These steps make possible the creation of printing plates that can transfer color impressions to paper on printing presses based on the principles of lithography.

The process of color separation starts by separating the original artwork into red, green, and blue components (for example by a digital scanner). Before digital imaging was developed, the traditional method of doing this was to photograph the image three times, using a filter for each color. Thus, the desired result is three grayscale images, which represent the red, green, and blue (RGB) components of the original image.

The next step is to invert each of these separations. When a negative image of the red component is produced, the resulting image represents the cyan component of the image. Likewise, negatives are produced of the green and blue components to produce magenta and yellow separations, respectively. This is done because cyan, magenta, and yellow are subtractive primaries which each represent two of the three additive primaries (RGB) after one additive primary has been subtracted from white light.

Todays digital printing methods do not have the restriction of a single color space that traditional CMYK processes do. Many presses can print from files that were ripped with images using either RGB or CMYK modes. The color reproduction abilities of a particular color space can vary; the process of obtaining accurate colors within a color model is called color matching.

Currently, there is also an emerging method of full color printing or aptly known as six-color process printing, which adds orange and green to the traditional CMYK inks for a larger and more vibrant color range. Unfortunately, such alternate color systems still rely on color separation, halftoning and lithography to produce printed images.

Color printing can also involve as few as one color ink, or multiple color inks which are not the primary colors. Using a limited number of color inks, or specific color inks in addition to the primary colors, is referred to as spot color printing. Generally, spot-color inks are specific formulations that are designed to print alone, rather than to blend with other inks on the paper to produce various hues and shades.

The range of available spot color inks, much like paint, is nearly unlimited, and much more varied than the colors that can be produced by four-color-process printing. Spot-color inks range from subtle pastels to intense fluorescents to reflective metallics.

A full color printing involves a series of steps, or transformations that can generate quality color reproduction for any printed material needed.

The article discusses used textbooks and how to obtain them. The site also covers ways to buy and resell the used college textbooks.

By Greg Shuey

With the cost of college tuition and other college related expenses constantly on the rise with no end in sight, parents and students are becoming more money conscious. Scholarships and student loans are a great way to pay for living expenses and tuition, but students are finding that with the economy as it is today, they are not getting enough to cover the cost of college textbooks.

Any student or parent who has walked into the campus bookstore can agree that college textbooks are very expensive. Of course walking into the campus bookstore before the start of the semester is recommended. Schools will often allow students to purchase books as early as two weeks before the start of the school year. There are two hidden benefits for heading to the campus bookstore far in advanced.

If a student is lucky they will be enrolled in a class that the professor is using the same book as he or she did the semester before. If this is the case, many students from the previous semester may have sold back their books. The books are then labeled as used and stuck on the shelf. The bookstore does an inventory of the used textbooks and the total number of books needed for class, and buys new textbooks for the difference. By going to the bookstore early you could save anywhere from $2.00 to $30.00 on just a single book.

Another advantage of checking out the bookstore early is so that you can see the books and get the ISBN numbers. It’’s no big secret that the bookstore is more expensive than online used textbook sites. Check out sites like Half or Amazon, for great deals on used textbooks. Used textbooks are not just limited to those two sites, there are hundreds of websites dedicated to purchasing and selling used college textbooks.

Yes that’’s right; there are people who will buy back your used textbook. Most campus bookstores will buy back used textbooks if they are in excellent condition. If your bookstore is not interested in your book, or the professor has changed books for the following semester, there are online sites that will buy them.

As a warning you may not be able to resell your used textbook. Some publishers will change the book a great deal from one and edition to the next and if schools are requiring the new edition of the book, your copy is obsolete. If you are unable to sell back your used textbooks, you may want to consider donating them. There are organizations that specialize in collecting books and shipping them free of charge to schools in other areas of the world.

Always count the cost of textbooks into any scholarship or student loans that you may get. Even if you get enough to cover the cost of brand new textbooks, it’’s still a smart idea to go to the book store early and get your hands on used textbooks. That extra cash can come in handy at the end of the semester when there’’s only water to drink and noodles to eat.

This article looks into the reasons, why any customer will buy your e-book and gives you tips on how to attract customers to your e-book.

By Victor Epand

E-Books are electronic books, i.e. books that are in electronic or digital form. No longer do you need to go to a library or a bookstore to get a book. Just log on to the Internet and you will find thousands of e-books. The best part about e-books is that though you can read them online, you can also print them, if required. When you want to read that particular book and don'’t seem to find one at the bookstore, it might thrill you to know that the same is available online. According to me, the idea of being available online is one of the most important reasons, as to why people would purchase your e-book. The aspect of being accessible, whenever and wherever you are is simply amazing.

You can also attract people if you have attractive offer rates, which are not very expensive. People always look for quality and good pricing. If you are smart, you would keep that in mind. Keep it fairly priced. Also have discounts, if you have more than one book for sale, or two or three editions of the same story. If you have your own website, then you should utilize that website. Post links to your e-book all over the website, so that it becomes accessible from different places that they visit.

Write on topics that are important and what people really need. As the world is changing at such a rapid space, you need to choose the right topics for your e-book. For example, write a book on gardening tips for the elderly, or golf tips. Write on things that people would require in their everyday lives. Make your cover page interesting and colorful, with a brief summary of the story or maybe with a good presentation in the start. Make them want to open your book online and read and read. Somehow, the eye should be convinced that what it sees is pleasing so that it convinces your brain that the e-book is good. Work on your designs and color schemes.

In this fast-paced world of the Internet and media, the e-book is available and is easy to refer to, whenever information is needed on the spot. You could make it easier by compiling information needed by normal people on different subject matters. Use your talent to write, and convince readers to read, by making it available online. There is a lot of hard work involved, but then nothing comes free in life. Perseverance and effort are two strong factors that lead to success.

This article enumerates the benefits of reading and explains why reading habits should begin at childhood, irrespective of the kind of material read, be it a newspaper, a comic book or fiction.

By Victor Epand

Literacy is driven by the habit of reading and not just by writing well or learning how to write well. Reading is a habit that drives you on from one book to another in search of knowledge. Reading does not bore one if pursued endlessly. Right from grade one, it may be recollected, that at the end of the year we had to report on the number of books we had read in the course of the whole year. Somehow one book led to the reading of another and yet another. No boredom and no strain - just a thirst for more and more of those books. That is what reading is supposed to do to you, if you keep at it continuously.

Even though writing contributes to our growth as a person, it is reading that makes us what we are. There’’s so much to learn from books.

Reading improves Your Mental Aptitude

Reading helps develop a stronger mental aptitude. How then will a novel help when it is not related to any of the subjects at school? In fact how can it increase mental aptitude?

Keeping the brain active helps it remain alive and thinking. This is what reading does to you. Scientists have stated that we use so little of our brains - what with all the equipment around us - that our brains are not as sharp, and slow to function. At the drop of a hat, we reach out for that calculator rather than exert the brain to work out a small mathematical problem or calculation.

Reading helps keep our brain thinking and imagining. The words out there staring us in the face as we read, help put the brain into the action surrounding the thoughts and ideas projected. So doesn'’t this make you smarter?

Does Reading Help You Earn More?

It’’s true that earlier people worked hard and earned well too without the education that is available today! But that is how life was earlier, and they made a success of it in spite of little or no education at all.

Some people succeed without a formal education but, is it not better to make a position in life with education than to make it well in life without education? Would you rather be the sales man in a car store or be the owner of the car store? This is what you have to decide for yourself. Reading helps you rise in life by creating dreams for yourself and helping yourself progress by the day.

Reading helps you gain knowledge in subjects which you have not been introduced to at school. Learning never comes to an end and books help you pursue this thirst for knowledge.

In order to cut down on the high textbook costs many students are coming together to trade used textbooks online. There are several opportunities where you can list your books so that others can get them and where you can also benefit.

By Greg Shuey

A new trend for recycling textbooks is to trade them online. There are several programs that making a space where students can trade. These websites are like bulletin boards where various websites list their ability to trade and students can choose where to go. Students can list books on their campus and can find them from anywhere in the country.

Most sites have been created to help students save money on the cost of new textbooks. When you list your books other students who haven'’t taken your classes yet can find the books they need. Generally, you will need to give your campus site and name for your local site or you may find it somewhere in your community. All this is available when you list your needs online.

One of the reasons it makes sense to trade books is that publishers of new textbooks bring out a new edition about every three years. Usually professors will go with the newer edition but in reality, the publisher doesn'’t change much from one edition to another. If you purchase it new, you'’re going to pay a higher price.

There area many different ways to cut the cost by trading. You can ask around to other students as well or you can look for them at a variety of social sites. For instance, MySpace, Craigslist, and Facebook have people who want to get rid of their used textbooks. Ask around at these places. Bookswaps at Campusbookswap is another organization that allows students to trade their books online.

Another idea that is new and that will probably catch is to rent your textbook. You can find sites online that will actually rent books for a very nominal fee. As an example, Chegg allows you to rent the book for the entire semester and they have an easy way to get your books and send them back. Their site looks a little like the Netflix site for videos.

One of the areas where most students may not think to look is their college library. Often there will be a copy or two of a current textbook that will be on display for students who don'’t have access to the book within the first couple of weeks. This is great way to find them too.

As more students find ways to get used textbooks some of the publishers are having challenges because they make most of their money through new books sales. In some situations they are asking college bookstores not to sell used copies of their textbooks and some college bookstores are asking professors not to tell students to buy books online. However, with the rising cost of new textbooks something has to be done. Each student has a right to get their books wherever they can find the best bargains.

If you love writing and want to make money online they you may want to consider starting your own magazine.

By Daniel Millions

Self publishing a magazine that’’s something that many individuals are interested in, not only for the money that is possible to make but also so that they can pursue an interest of theirs to its fullest extent. There are several different things that you'’re going to need to do in order to start a periodical and it may be difficult to learn how to start a magazine unless you start at the very beginning. All of us have different ideas of what success is as far as our magazines are concerned but by following the proper path, you will have the greatest chance of finding the success you'’re looking for.

The first thing that you'’re going to need is to find the proper financing in order to start a magazine in the first place. Before you have a large readership, it is often difficult to attract any advertisers in order to make the initial money to begin publishing. One of the easiest ways to do this is to come up with a business plan for your magazine so that you can approach a lending institution to help you with the financing. Once your readership begins to improve, you can find advertisers that will begin to pay for all of the publishing cost and to make your magazine run in the black.

You also need to determine how large your magazine is going to be. If you'’re working on a very specific niche, you may want to have a smaller magazine or perhaps only publish it several times per year. There is no set rule that says that you need to publish a magazine every month in order for it to be successful. Many magazines have been published for a very long time that are only available once or twice per year.

There really are a lot of other things that are involved in how to start a magazine. As long as you have the desire and an interest in maintaining one of these periodicals, however, you can generally be successful with it. Give it time to grow and make sure that you are constantly promoting the magazine in order to have a larger following. Eventually, your magazine will have a life of its own and you would be surprised at exactly how far you will be able to take it. It is a very old way to make money but it is one that still works today.

Laying out a magazine can me more of a hassle then writing the content for it. One great way to massively cut down on the time it takes to lay out your magazine is by using an InDesign magazine template. Once you learn how to use an InDesign template you will be able to spend less time laying out the pages of your magazine and be able to spend more time writing content for it as well as promoting it. Since time is money both of those things can in turn lead to more profits, so this is a very worthwhile investment.

There are many websites online that sell InDesign magazine templates so it should not be a problem finding one that meets your needs. If you feel that you can not find a template that fits your specific needs then you might consider hiring a freelancer to design the template for you. This is a once off expense that will save you countless time in the future. InDesign templates are simple to use and will absolutely help you save time that you would have spent laying out your copy. Using these templates are fast and simple. You just layout your content as you want it to look in the template.

When you consider how much time and effort you save by using an InDesign magazine template you soon realize what a worthwhile investment they are. By just using a simple layout you are also maximizing how much you are able to fit on each page. If you do not already use a magazine templates and you are looking for a way to save time and money the acquire one today.

This article is a brief discussion on the earliest works of famous American author Ernest Hemingway, one of the all time literary greats.

By Shane Dayton

Ernest Hemingway is one of the all time greats of American literature, whose style was a stark contrast (if not complete polar opposite) of his literary rival, William Faulkner. Hemingway’’s direct and precise style of writing is still often cited to aspiring writers across universities everywhere as the model for them to follow.

What’’s interesting is the unconventional way in which Ernest Hemingway got his literary career started. If you'’re an amateur book collector looking for the very first Ernest Hemingway novel, you'’re going to have a hard time finding it. Ernest Hemingway had to pay his dues like most famous writers, and when someone refers to “Hemingway’’s first novel” they might be referring to one of three works:

“Three Stories and Ten Poems”
“In Our Time”
“Torrents of Spring”

These are the earliest works of Hemingway. Technically the very first one published was “Three Stories and Ten Poems,” which is the rarest, and was actually self-published because no one else wanted it.

Only 300 copies were printed in 1923, and a perfect copy of the first edition of “3 stories and 10 poems” would now sell for $65,000. Even a copy in beat up rough shape is worth $3,500 minimum. Since there were only 300 original copies printed, you can imagine how hard it is to find a copy.

Ironically, “In Our Time” was supposed to be Hemingway’’s first novel and was accepted by a French publisher, but publishing was delayed, so this novel wasn'’t printed until 1924. There were only 170 copies made of the first version, released by William Bird Press of Paris.

A perfect first edition of “In Our Time” is worth $50,000, while a 1925 New York printing is worth about the same, but only with a dust jacket.

“The Torrents of Spring” was printed in 1926 and is often mistaken for Ernest’’s original novel because it was the work that really gained national and international attention for the young author. A “Torrents of Spring” first draft with dust jacket is worth around $20,000 in excellent condition. The same novel is in worn, but good, condition, is worth about $3,000.

Ernest Hemingway’’s early works will always be really popular among collectors, which can also make these more difficult to find. Hemingway’’s later classic novels like “The Old Man and the Sea,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” and “The Sun Also Rises,” are all collectible, and far easier to get a hold of since far more printings of these works were made.

That makes them less valuable money-wise, but the reading experience can'’t be beat.

When you are looking for used textbooks you can be overwhelmed by so many choices. There are many sites that are reputable and this article tells you about five.

By Greg Shuey

On the average college campus one student can have a bill for textbooks that is $600 or more because they will spend an average of $120 per book per class. If they have more than one book in each class, the price can be astronomical.

One of the best ways to cut the cost is to buy used textbooks instead of buying them new. This way a student can more comfortably take a class and use some of that extra money for other things. A question may come to mind as to where to purchase used books.

Most students are buying them online because it is faster and easier than hunting for them at the bookstore or other local bookstores. Going online can be daunting though because there are so many choices. Here are five places that you can go for best value, and these are in no particular order. However, they all have at least a four star rating (out of five stars):

1. Amazon — most people will start at Amazon because they always have books discounted. This is true for some textbooks, but not for all. You can start here and use them to comparison shop other places.

2. BestBookBuys — this is a great site for finding books because they have a search feature that allows you to comparison shop some of the major stores. The comparison tells you things like the condition of the book, the rating of the store and how long it will take.

3. Half — this is a site from eBay and the information reads pretty much like Amazon. At this sight however you can save between 20% and 90% depending on the book you need.

4. TextbooksRus– If you want used textbooks really cheap, try this site. In a search for Philosophy or Psychology (without a particular book) we were able to find books between $1.00 and $5.00.

5. Powells — Powell’’s discounts all of their new books so they are less than the market value. You can find books for about half the price as the new price.

When you are purchasing used textbooks it is important to get them before your class starts if possible. Many professors are now putting their syllabi on their personal pages or on college pages listed by class. Used textbooks can take up to two weeks to arrive when they are in stock, so you will want to have them when classes start.

Usually when you look at the information on these books you will be told the condition which can be fair, good or excellent. You will have to decide how much damage you are willing to take for the price you are willing to pay.

Used textbooks are a great way to find the books you need and let’’s face it, when gas and food prices are high; it’’s nice to know you can save money somewhere!

Are you wondering what makes an ebook more successful than the other? Then follow these golden rules of ebook promotion and run all the way to the bank.

By Roberto Sedycias

You have put immense effort and spent countless hours in doing research and writing an ebook. But, what if your ebook was not able to create the rage among your online readers? While hundreds of ebook writers burn their midnight oil to be successful at their mission, many fail to make it because they don`t know the secrets of making it big with their ebooks. Following are some of the most highly essential steps that every wannabe ebook write should follow.

Writing for the reader:

While writing your ebook you must remember that you are not writing about the subject matters that you are interested in. it is the reader who is responsible for your online success as a writer. Hence, in your article, cover the area that your reader want ton know. You are going to satiate the readers` obsession. And their preference of subject must be your theme of writing. To find out the idea for your ebook you can go through the forums and blogs.

People are used to buy a book judging it from its cover. The same trend goes with the ebooks as well. Here a graphic or a picture speaks volume. A poor-looking image can literally affect your selling. If you really want a over for your e-book make it attractive or don`t keep a cover at all. If you possess a little or no idea about the graphic designing, get a graphic designer hired to give a professional graphic look for your ebook.

An efficient web hosting service:

You can make your e book more special by creating domain name and a website for it. These days, cheap domain names are available that you can find out making a Google search. But make sure that you have a control over the domain name that allows you to move whatever webhost you want. They should provide 24/7 service and 99% uptime. This will make your e-book accessible to any reader.

Making traffic:

If you don`t get traffic you are not going to drive visitors to your sales page and forget about they turning into consumer. You can write some articles and link it to your sales page of your ebook. As you are writing your ebook, you don`t need to write separate article for that. You can take a section or part of it and use it for creating links. The visitors through the links can virtually enhance your selling. After all, your ebook needs them to be the best seller.

You can get potential customer if you have got an effective marketing strategy. Unless you have created a visibility for your ebook it is not going to be sold itself though it has the best content in the world. Consistently distribute and promote your ebook by following any traffic generating technique. Send your articles to different publishers and submit your links in ezines. This is the key to get traffic. Once you get the potential traffic your ebook, it will definitely pave the way to be the best-seller.

Promotional Salesletter:

Appeal the emotion of the reader logically. You can post some sales letter making your ebook stand out among others. There are thousands of ebook published everyday and unless your ebook is prominent and appealing. Get some instant salesletters or templets for your best seller.

Online booking and payment:

You are selling your ebook online and hence, you need to have a top notch payment procedure for your customers. Do you have a merchant account? Actually you need one. An online payment procedure is convenient for the buyers. You also need to have a reliable method of ordering your ebook.

Used Textbooks are a great way to recycle your old textbooks and get money. They have many uses. You can trade them with your friends, send them to foreign countries or get money back from your bookstore.

By Greg Shuey

Many students may not know that they can take their used textbooks to a variety of places and get cash back for them. In most colleges, universities and community colleges textbooks are recycled all the time. Generally speaking, if a class is going to go from one semester to the other, there will be a great need for used textbooks.

One of the first places to start is the college bookstore where the textbooks were first purchased. There will be several times during the year that used textbooks will be bought back by the bookstore and depending on their need a student can get half of their money spent or more. It really depends on the book. At other times, they may only get a few dollars back but it is a good idea anyway.

Another way to get money for used textbooks is to advertise on a bulletin board. Around most colleges and universities there are students who need to find textbooks for undergraduate and graduate classes. Let’’s face it. With new textbooks costing anywhere between $100 and $150 or more per course, it is a wise thing to advertise those you don'’t need anymore. Often you can get more for your textbooks by advertising them; you can also advertise in the school newspaper.

There are a variety of online sites now that allow you to sell your books online. They will either buy your books or you can offer your books for sale. You can also purchase used textbooks at these sites. A Google search for used textbooks will bring up more sites than you can imagine.

Some of the things to keep in mind when you have used books for sale:

1. Make sure they are in good condition.

2. If you think you are going to sell them back or sell them to someone else at the end of the term, don'’t mark in them. Also, don'’t use highlighters. You will get more money for a book in perfect condition than one that looks used.

3. Check the bookstore to see when they are going to sell it back.

4. Some bookstores have a way that you can check to see whether the book is being used. For instance, with some websites you can actually check the ISBN number to see the amount you can get in buy back.

5. Be sure to include your email or phone number if you are selling them on a bulletin board.

6. Go online and check out the various places that buy used books and post yours for sale.

You may not make a big profit from selling your used textbooks, but you will save on the cost of new ones for yourself.

One other way that you can be of help with used textbooks is to send them overseas. There are many programs that ask for textbooks of any kind as long as they are new. If you can afford to let yours go, this is a worthwhile cause.

Learn how you can earn more by selling e-books online. The best part of this business is that you can work from home. There is in capital investment and thus no risk involved.

By Victor Epand

Plenty of choice is available to decide on the ways and means of getting into the business of selling books from home. It is a lucrative business for anyone who has the ambition and inclination to make money on their own terms. This is an ideal option for housewives and entrepreneurs who wish to make extra money from the comfort of their homes.

An advantage of selling books from home is that there is no capital investment to be made, which makes the risk factor nil. Anyone with the need and wish to make extra money can get into the business without having to worry about losing money. Depending on the line of marketing you choose, the advantage varies. Selling e-books is easy and affordable. If you choose online selling, you can relax further as the time consuming inventory of stock need not be kept. In addition, there is no shipping of products to customers as they get instant access to the books ordered by them. Considering this and the low overhead costs, it is a great opportunity to start your own online business.

You could also make more if you decide to write a few e-books yourself and advertise your business along with the new books written by you. Different online sites are there, from where you can sell your books eg: Amazon, e-Bay etc. You could even sell them to libraries or to clients directly online or just use your garage / basement to sell all the unused books.

Another marketing technique that has caught on very well is the MLM method. This mainly focuses on children’’s educational books and targets parents and educational institutes. It is important to have a passion and be convinced of what you are selling. This not only gives an impact on your sales pitch but your convincing becomes easier as well. To start, you need to join a book distribution company who will educate you on the value of the books and their terms and conditions. You can then start selling them to your friends, libraries, at book fairs, schools etc. Investment is very low as the distribution company charges only for a start up kit which you would require.

The commission offered is usually very attractive, along with a lot of incentives thrown in. The more people you get to market your books, the more money you can make as MLM gives you a commission for every recruit and on everything that they sell. Marketing these books is easy as parents are very enthusiastic when it comes to improving the knowledge of their children. It is also a great way to meet different people from different fields and share your passion for books with them. Depending on your time constraint, you could either opt for part time or get into it full time and watch your business grow while you put in your best efforts.

While writing a book, there are a number of things to keep in mind if you want to make your book a bestseller. This article shows you how to sell your books by deploying the right marketing techniques

By Victor Epand

When you craft your book to be a bestseller, everyone involved i.e. you (the author), the publisher and the bookseller, are sure to make good money. A bestseller is the result of countless small decisions. Individually, none of these decisions would determine the overall success of the book. It is the collective whole of many good decisions that gives you a shot at creating a bestseller.

As an author, writing a bestseller is challenging and you need to mentally prepare yourself for the challenge. Your book is more likely to succeed, if it is written for being published as a ‘’lead book'’ in a particular market segment rather than as a book simply meant for a market segment. Your book need not be very large. However, it should provide solid, complete and comprehensive content to qualify as a bestseller. The terms solid, comprehensive and complete are relative and refer to whatever you as an author have set out to accomplish in your book.

Before you publish your title, you need to do a lot of homework along with your publisher. It is critically essential that you acquire a full understanding of your target market segment. If you are unable to understand, what your target audience desires from you, failure is imminent. There is a tendency to define book markets as being comprised of people with identical/similar needs. The fact is that the content needs of people within a market segment vary quite substantially. Therefore, your bestseller, even when remaining focused, should be able to accommodate the needs of the broad spectrum of readers within the targeted market segment.

Different people adopt different approaches to reading books. Some people simply browse through a book till they find something interesting. Others may prefer sequential reading. Your bestseller should make it easy for the reader to find whatever he is looking for. Depending on the category of your book, you can include a brief table of contents, notes, illustrations, tips, sub-headings, cross-references and examples. You can provide an outline at the beginning of each chapter, in addition to tabs, appendices, glossaries, running heads etc. to help the reader quickly find the desired information. Every page should be packed full with information in a well-designed manner that is logical, elegant and easy on the reader’’s eyes.

When you want your book to be a bestseller, it is critical that you break new ground in your writing. It means including ideas that are new, different and unique and meant to deliver more than what the book promises. The fact is that there are very few ideas that are completely new. In book publishing, ideas from every aspect of life are borrowed and modified as an ongoing process in the creation of new books. The crux is to develop and incorporate a few new ideas to clearly differentiate your book and make it stand out in the pack available in the market.

Even if your book is well authored, its chances of being published as a bestseller are dramatically enhanced when you have well-established connections with vendors and other industry experts.

Everyone loves to read. But, with prices skyrocketing, reading has become an expensive habit for most persons. But this need not be the case, if you know how to find books at a low price. This article tells you about ways of finding your favorite books at a low price at second hand bookstores and other places, such as book fairs and garage sales.

By Victor Epand

Satisfaction is guaranteed when you get a good bargain and a great deal in just about anything. It takes a certain amount of skill and convincing power to get the right price which you have in mind. Being at the right place at the right time could help sometimes when you want be sure of spending the minimum amount for a maximum gain. There are plenty of options available for someone who is looking to get a good bargain on books. The latest and easy way is the online method where you can check out good offers and deals available for you. Shipping charges are the only drawbacks you would have to consider when shopping online and the time factor as it would take a few days for the goods to reach you.

Making trips to second hand book stores is a wise thing to do, as often you tend to find what you'’re looking for at rock bottom prices. Keeping in touch with the respective shopkeepers and letting them know of your requirement would get you a better leverage as you would be informed when they get what you'’re looking for.

Book fairs, garage sales and even jumble sales are great places to grab a good book at throw away prices. Look out for these in your local newspapers and other advertisements where you can strike a good bargain. Major book stores usually have their annual sales where the books are offered at discounted prices. If you are looking forward to buying new books, this would be the best alternative.

Libraries are an excellent source of bargain books as you could even exchange your old one for a book that is a repeat in the library. This is very inexpensive and works well for both parties. Keeping your books in a good condition is very important if you are looking at exchanging or selling them in future. Having friends with similar interests will help in getting the books that you need at an exchange or a good bargain.

Going in for older editions will save you some money as the newer versions will be more in demand. The contents need to verified and checked for differences in matter and relevance. Otherwise, the older version can suffice instead of the more expensive new edition. Plenty of old editions of various books are available on the Internet at cheap prices which can be got with a little searching at a great bargain.

Almost everything can be negotiated, so you can make use of your bargaining skills to get the right price and grab a good bargain for yourself.

Children are inquisitive by nature. They have a lot of questions about the things that they see around them, especially about animals. It is easy to tell them about domesticated animals or pets since they can actually see these animals. But, how does one satisfy their curiosity about wild animals?

By Victor Epand

Books are a treasure for which there is no measure. Literally, I mean you cannot weigh the value of books in terms of money. They are just too precious. They are a great source of information, whether hardcover or online. Books create a world of their own; a world of knowledge and enlightenment.

From a very young age, children are basically inquisitive by nature. They want to search and look and ask a thousand questions. Their questions are not always foolish, and yet we cannot always satisfy their curiosity. At these times, books are very helpful in feeding this curiosity and answering their millions of questions.

Remember, it is important that children learn about animals that live in the wild, as much as they know about Tommy the Labrador or Polly the Parrot. Domestic animals are ones that surround them and are a part of their everyday life. But there are also wild animals that kids need to know about. They need to know the lifestyle and habits of the tiger as well as the crocodile. God has created all things, and they all have their own unique role to play on earth. Children need not be filled with fear or any wrong notions, but should be given the facts which will assist them in making a right assumption concerning wild animals.

Books are one of the best methods of introducing animal life to children. They have a lot of colorful pictures, appealing to the senses of kids and they tempt them into wanting to see more and read more. Books have a way of opening up a whole new world to them; a world that they understand and learn to appreciate with time. Rather than acquiring a fear for the wild, it is better they learn to understand how animals live and are a part of their habitat, into which they are born.

Wildlife books have a lot of information on the lifestyle and eating habits of all animals living in the wild, be it elephants, hyenas, tigers or the crocodile. They cover each and every aspect in detail, like their daily schedules, how they hunt, what they eat and other things. This helps a child to imagine what the real thing is like, without really being physically present there. Some kids get so fascinated that they actually take such an interest in wildlife, that when they grow up, they choose the study nature as a career option.

Books play a big role in conditioning a child’’s thoughts and opinions in a positive manner, towards wild animals. It would really be difficult to live our lives, and even more difficult explaining to a child, the positive aspects of the WILD, without a BOOK.

There are so many celebrities writing great books today, so if you are looking to keep up with the trends, consider buying used books written by celebrities for your bookshelf.

By Victor Epand

There are always celebrities that are writing books now, but what about finding these must-reads after they have faded from the main spotlight? Try looking in the used books section for your book.

When you go to the bookstore to get your next book, you probably might not even have thought about looking in the used books section. However, you might want to think about doing that now. There are many reasons for getting your next celebrity must-have from the used books sections and one of those is that, as a used book, the price will be low.

If you have been looking for a certain book in the past, while it was still very new, you would probably have noticed that the price was a heck of a lot higher than what you would want to spend on it in the first place. This is primarily because the book is hyped up at the time of release and there is a lot of demand created for the book.

However, once the want for that book has died down, you will be able to get it at a much better price than before. Used books are not as bad as they may sound and can save you an incredible amount of money in the long run.

Another good reason that you should wait for your celebrity books is that they may not be as good as you thought. If you want a book simply for the person that it’’s about or the person that wrote it, you will want to think about waiting and seeing if it’’s going to be something that you really do want to have.

A used book offers you the same amount of enjoyment as a book that might be brand new, but you can get it at a lower price. Why spend high dollars on something that you might not even really like?

Getting a used book is one thing that you should really think about. You want to know what you are getting and if the book that you are looking at is really going to be worth the price that you end up paying in the end. Take your time and find the one that is good not just for the people that write it.

Remember that celebrities are really just like us and we should think of them like that instead of treating everything they do like it’’s so special and new. Go get your celebrity used books and find out what they have been doing that is so different from you. It might surprise you in the end.

Been down your local book store lately? Seen one too many For Dummies books, this article takes a look at some of the more redundant titles.

By Patrick Omari

In an attempt to improve my writing I recently remembered a phrase handed down by a university lecturer to my creative writing class - “God help the writer who doesn'’t read.” Accordingly a trip to a large, chain-style, book shop followed and, after wandering around for a while staring glassy eyed at the latest best sellers, I came to a section unknown to me before, the For Dummies section.

We'’ve all seen an example of the For Dummies series before, perhaps a co-worker has an Excel for Dummies sat on their desk but I'’d never known just how many titles there were. My intrigue was aroused when I saw the edition entitled Sex For Dummies and wondered “if you need a basic manual you really shouldn'’t be doing it.” There were a number of more unusual titles there but a quick search on the internet found a much larger list of available titles and so many, many strange ones.

The series was initially begun way back in 1991 when Dan Gookin wrote DOS For Dummies. From there the books began tackling a lot of other software and technological subjects where there were a lack of guides for beginners. It’’s understandable that things such as CSS would be better for a beginners guide, but at what point does this apply to Siberian Huskies?

Here, for general amusement and bafflement, are some of the stranger ones and, no word of a lie, all of these are genuine.

Building Self-Confidence For Dummies. Really; trying to improve your confidence from a book that insults you in the title?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming for Dummies. If you'’re looking into something so scientific you may want to use a book that doesn'’t have a picture of a “dummy” on the front that signals to the rest of the class that you don'’t really know what you'’re doing.

Forensics for Dummies. If it’’s not written by Columbo there'’ll be nothing more reassuring at a murder scene than someone consulting this bad boy.

Screenwriting for Dummies. So that’’s where the script for Transformers came from.

Hypnotherapy for Dummies. Seriously, someone who considers themselves a dummy wants to know how to access the subconcious mind of other people?

Songwriting for Dummies. Ah, so that’’s where the Transformers Soundtrack came from.

Hacking and Hacking Wireless Networks for Dummies. Is this to be encouraged in the first place let alone in a For Dummies book? Turns out BillGates is not a back door password to everything. Dummy.

British Citizenship Test for Dummies. Everyone gets in.

Breaking Into Acting for Dummies. Ah, so this is where Dwayne ‘’The Rock'’ Hudson came from.

George W Bush: For Dummies. Oh, no, wait; that was just his election slogan.

Religion for Dummies. It really is.

Given the ‘’common sense'’ elements that this series of books prides itself on, this article has decided to offer a money-saving and time-saving exercise by telling you all you need to know and save you giving up your hard earned money for some of these titles and, again, these are genuine titles in the series. Let’’s have a go:

Stock Investing for Dummies. If you consider yourself a dummy, don'’t do this.

Marathon Training for Dummies. Run. Run some more.

Rabbits for Dummies. Buy one, name one, get it a hutch. Feed it, water it, stroke it. If it’’s sick take it to the vet, don'’t try and consult the obviously non-medically trained yellow book Vet Skills for Dummies. They'’re cute, they'’re fluffy and multiply like, well, rabbits.

Siberian Huskies for Dummies… Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies. It’’s a dog. Feed it, water it, stroke it, take it for a walk.

Catholicism for Dummies. Feel guilty.

The Internet for Dummies. It’’s porn. A lot of porn.

Dogtricks for Dummies. If you buy this, your dog is already smarter than you.

There really has to be a point, as with all things, someone says “enough is enough” but I get the feeling that that will never happen for the For Dummies people. After all, why do that when you can write a book called “Calling It A Day, For Dummies.”

Poetry is a great way to express oneself, if you have the talent to do so. And, if you have the talent, why not let everyone know about it? In this article, we explain how you can go about publishing your poetries in a magazine.

By Victor Epand

Poetry they say is an extension of your soul, a pouring of your spirit. All that is within you is expressed in words, be it love, pain, sorrow, care, etc. It is a great way to express oneself, if you have the talent to do so. There is a great difference between writers and poets. Poets are moody (a little more than writers) and they put feelings into words. When people read poetry, there are many who identify themselves with them. Many share the same thoughts and ideas. Poetry is soothing to your spirit and makes you become very introspective, which is good. Once in a while, we all need to think about other things in life, besides ourselves.

And one you have written these great poems, how about showing the world what a great poet you are? A simple way is to get your poems published in a magazine. Magazines are widely spread all over the market. People buy them because they are informative, cheap and easily accessible. They are fun and exciting too. The pictures and titbits are simply amazing. There are hundreds of magazines available in the market today, from Cookery to Health, Women fashion to sports. A wide and excellent range of magazines is available.

Poetry has a potential to make its way into magazines. If you are looking at literary magazines that are normally printed in universities, schools or colleges, then you could send your poetry to them and ask them to print it for you. It is even better if the subject of the magazine is in line with your poetry, but you can use it as an insert as well. This would work as well, because after reading something that is educational or serious, one gets to read this little script of a poem. And it could make you feel light, and see the world in different colors. Life has different sides to it, and we must have an open mind. A poet can help us understand the seriousness of life in a simple way.

You also have some commercial books that include magazines like Readers Digest, where you can send your poems. Sometimes you even get paid, if you agree to write for them regularly. These books have a mix of all kinds of articles. Poems are like a breath of fresh air.

Never ever agree to people or any publisher who asks you to pay for your poetry to be published, they are definitely bogus. Your poetry is of value. And you know that you have delivered well. So, don'’t compromise. Be bold and push for your poetry to be published as a work of talent, where you should get paid.

If your poetry is, for example, on women or on love, then you could insert them in a woman’’s magazine or a general type of magazine. Poetry speaks to a wide section of people, and it is not only for the elderly or literary experts. There is a lot of poetry that is easy for us to understand and feel. Imagine how much more meaningful a magazine would be and how much more enjoyable it would be to read, when poetries are published in it.

This article explains how astrology books help you to get more information about yourself and your personality by giving you information about your sun sign. There are basic books that cater to freshers and advanced books for professionals.

By Victor Epand

Man is basically curious by nature. And when it comes to something about his future, that interests him even more. He believes that astrology books can help him to get to know more about sun signs, since he thinks that this can affect his life. Hence, he considers astrology plays an important role in his life. What is astrology and how do we get to know more about sun signs?

Astrology books tell us that the earth is said to be divided into 12 parts or zones that are called the zodiac signs. The Sun is a very powerful object. It is the most powerful among all the other stellar objects in the universe. Sun signs are basically known to be connected to a person’’s ego, behavior and attitude. And due to this, when someone is born in a particular zodiac zone, the sun does have an effect on his or her personality. How powerful an effect it has on your personality, depends on how powerful the sun is at the time when you are born. Your birth time and place play a big role in ascertaining what you will be or can be in the future.

Ancient religions like Christianity, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism etc. have used the method of Astrology to tell things of the past and predict things of the future. They have relied on various things like the stars, the moon, or the sun, in order to predict certain events and occurrences. So, this sun sign craze has been around for quite a long time now. It has completely captured the interest of the people. More and more people are getting interested, so much so, that they go through great lengths to get information on themselves and others.

Daily newspaper columns are a favorite for most people, to grab that interesting piece of information. Astrology books offer another alternative. There are a lot of people who want to go one step further than just delving in bits and pieces of information. They want to study their respective sun signs in more detail. So, they go in for further study by referring to different books based on astrology. I still remember, when I was young, my mum had all the versions of Linda Goodman, who is a famous author doing in-depth study in Sun Signs. There are basic books of hers that cater to freshers and advanced books for professionals.

Most people use these as a guideline upon which they base their actions and future plans. Astrologers believe that the effect of the sun makes each person different from the other. A lot of people’’s behavior can be explained when they are categorized into zodiac signs. There is a positive angle to it. These books help when you want to understand people and why they behave in a certain way and what you can expect of them. But, you will never really get to know them 100% - may be just 80% or a little more.

Thus, though, astrology books are able to squelch the curiosity of new readers and satisfy the hunger of hardcore, diehard astrology fans, they can be used only as the basis of certain assumptions that you can make about people.
